Gili Lawa Darat translated as “the island close to the land” in indonesian is located at the north east of Komodo National Park. It offers the greatest spot to enjoy the sunset in Komodo. It should take about 20 to 30 minutes to reach the top. There, at the top, while waiting for sunset, taking pictures is a must. This place is full of marine surprises as it is close to the ocean and if you are lucky enough you might see an humpback or blue whale !

The bay is a perfect place for boat to stay during the night as it is always calm and protected from currents and waves.
